What Is the Account Number on a PerYourHealth Bill?
Your Account Number, sometimes called Guarantor Number, Patient Account Number, or Account #, is a unique number given to you by your HCA Healthcare facility or Parallon-managed provider for billing purposes.
This number identifies your billing record. It is different from your clinical medical record number and your PerYourHealth ID.
When will you need your account number?
- You’ll need it as a billing reference when you call the billing office.
- Some online portals may ask for your account number when you use guest pay.
- You’ll need your account number if you want to dispute charges or ask for an itemised bill.
- It also identifies you when you contact HCA Patient Financial Services.

Where Exactly to Find Your Account Number
Location 1: Patient information section (most common)
Look near the top of your statement, where your name and address are listed. This area is usually labelled as “Account Number,” “Account #,” or “Patient Account.”
Location 2: Near the balance due
On some HCA/Parallon statements, the Account Number is shown right next to the “Amount Due” or “Total Balance” figure.
Location 3: Top right corner
In standard billing formats, account details like the Account Number are often found in a clearly marked box at the top right of the statement.
Location 4: Tear-off payment coupon
If your statement has a detachable coupon at the bottom, your Account Number may be listed there next to the balance due.
What it looks like
- Length: Most account numbers are 8 to 12 digits long.
- Format: Account numbers use only numbers, without any special characters. This is different from a PerYourHealth ID.
- Label: You might see it called Account Number, Acct #, Guarantor Number, or Patient Account Number.
Account Number Labels by Provider Type

| Account # | ✅ Yes |
| Patient Account Number | ✅ Yes |
| Guarantor Number | ✅ Yes |
| Guarantor Account | ✅ Yes |
| Visit Number | Sometimes — identifies a specific visit; may differ per visit |
| PerYourHealth ID | ❌ No — completely different (portal access ID) |
| Medical Record Number | ❌ No — clinical record, not billing |
What If You Can’t Find Your Account Number?
Step 1: Review every section of your statement carefully
Look for your account number near your name, by the balance due, or in the top right corner. These are the most common places.
Step 2: Check previous bills from the same facility
Your account number does not change between bills from the same HCA facility. If you have an older statement, check it too.
Step 3: Call HCA/provider billing office
The billing office can give you your account number over the phone once they confirm your name, date of birth, and date of service.
Step 4: Try the portal with what you have
Some PerYourHealth portals let you log in with just your PerYourHealth ID and date of birth. Try Guest Pay if you don’t have your account number.
Common Problems — Fixed
“The Account Number isn’t working on the portal”
To log in to the portal, use your PerYourHealth ID, which includes special characters. The Account Number is only for billing reference. For more help, see the PerYourHealth ID Guide.
“I have two numbers and don’t know which Account Number is vs PerYourHealth ID”
Look for special characters. The number with an asterisk (*) or another symbol is your PerYourHealth ID. The plain number next to your name is your Account Number.
“My Account Number has letters”
Some HCA facilities use account numbers with both letters and numbers. When you contact the billing office, enter the number exactly as it appears.
