Partial Payments
Most PayMyDoctor provider portals let you make partial payments, so you can pay less than the full amount you owe.
How to make a partial payment:
- On the payment screen, find the field where you can change the payment amount.
- Delete the amount already entered and type the amount you want to pay.
- Then, finish the payment process as you usually would.
Important notes about partial payments:
- Check your provider’s rules about partial payments, since some may require you to pay the full amount by the due date.
- If you are making partial payments as part of an informal agreement, check with your provider’s billing office to make sure your account will not be sent to collections.
- If you have a formal payment plan, you can set up AutoPay in your account to make automatic scheduled partial payments.
AutoPay — Set Up Automatic Payments
Only registered account holders can use AutoPay; Guest Pay users can’t. AutoPay is especially helpful for patients who have payment plans.
How to set up AutoPay:
- Log in to your PayMyDoctor account.
- Go to Account Settings or Payment Settings.
- Select AutoPay or Recurring Payments.
- Choose the account or provider you want to set up AutoPay for.
- Enter or select your payment method.
- Set your payment schedule. You can choose monthly, weekly, or by due date, depending on what your provider offers.
- Decide on the payment amount. You can pay the full balance or a fixed amount.
- Confirm your setup. You will receive reminders before each payment is processed.
AutoPay notifications:
You will get email reminders before each scheduled payment and a confirmation after every successful auto-payment.
Changing or cancelling AutoPay:
Log in to your account, go to Payment Settings, select AutoPay, then choose Edit or Cancel. Cancel at least 2 business days before your next scheduled payment so it doesn’t go through.
