Step 3: Choose how much to pay

  • Full balance: Pay the total amount you owe
  • Partial payment: Enter a smaller amount to pay. Most providers allow this option.

Step 4: Choose a payment method

Select from available options at your specific provider’s portal:

  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, Discover)
  • Debit card

Partial Payments

Most PayMyDoctor provider portals let you make partial payments, so you can pay less than the full amount you owe.

How to make a partial payment:

  1. On the payment screen, find the field where you can change the payment amount.
  2. Delete the amount already entered and type the amount you want to pay.
  3. Then, finish the payment process as you usually would.

Important notes about partial payments:

  • Check your provider’s rules about partial payments, since some may require you to pay the full amount by the due date.
  • If you are making partial payments as part of an informal agreement, check with your provider’s billing office to make sure your account will not be sent to collections.
  • If you have a formal payment plan, you can set up AutoPay in your account to make automatic scheduled partial payments.

AutoPay — Set Up Automatic Payments

Only registered account holders can use AutoPay; Guest Pay users can’t. AutoPay is especially helpful for patients who have payment plans.

How to set up AutoPay:

  1. Log in to your PayMyDoctor account.
  2. Go to Account Settings or Payment Settings.
  3. Select AutoPay or Recurring Payments.
  4. Choose the account or provider you want to set up AutoPay for.
  5. Enter or select your payment method.
  6. Set your payment schedule. You can choose monthly, weekly, or by due date, depending on what your provider offers.
  7. Decide on the payment amount. You can pay the full balance or a fixed amount.
  8. Confirm your setup. You will receive reminders before each payment is processed.

AutoPay notifications:

You will get email reminders before each scheduled payment and a confirmation after every successful auto-payment.

Changing or cancelling AutoPay:

Log in to your account, go to Payment Settings, select AutoPay, then choose Edit or Cancel. Cancel at least 2 business days before your next scheduled payment so it doesn’t go through.
